The process to remove silt from the southern section of Model Boating Pond began yesterday. The silt is being removed by excavators. In the pictures below, the orange excavator is pushing the silt towards the yellow excavator so it can scoop it up.
The silt is then placed in a dumper truck.
The dumper truck transports the silt up the hill in the work compound next to the pond and deposits in in the bays that have been created.
The silt will be left here to dry out. It will then be used to replace the clay which is being dug from the nearby borrow pits.
