Batty about the Heath

Back in March we reported that a number of bat boxes had been put up as part of the environmental mitigation for the project. At first, we only had evidence that a family of blue tits were using the new boxes. However, our conservation team monitored the boxes yesterday and were delighted to find one of the boxes holding four pipstrell bats.

Bats often take a while (a number of years) before they settle into a new box, so the fact we have them using a box so soon is a good result.
